Acupuncture and Depression: Restoring the Mind and Spirit

One of the biggest challenges in our culture is depression, amplified recently by world conditions and its accompanying uncertainty. Patients are often on one or more prescription medications yet not feeling better. We must discover and treat the underlying cause to significantly alleviate our patient’s depression and mental paralysis. We will look at eight major causes of depression, stemming from breaks in the spirit to aspects of the Zhr, Hun, Shen, Yi and P’o; Conception-Governing vessel blockages; and breaks in the Sheng and K’o cycles: all accompanied with specific treatments. Also covered will be protocols for exit-entry; “husband-wife” blockages and on-going support once the initial depression has been released.

This class is hands-on, with practical exercises and hands-on demonstrations. We will be doing point location, likely ones you do not use often. We ask that all participants wear loose, comfortable clothing, and bring a modest cover-up and some pens for marking the points.

In addition to "Acupuncture and Depression", Stephen Flores and Pat Gorman will also be teaching “Acupuncture and Cancer: Transforming Disease to Wellness” on Saturday, February 27, 2016 (click on the course title to read more). This weekend is crafted to provide two in-depth courses that complement each other. Enrich your practice. Take both and receive a discount.

Each class is $185. Students interested in registering for both at one time will receive a 10% discount ($333 vs. $370 total for both workshops). In order for discount to be applied, you must register via phone by calling the Continuing Education department at (212) 924-5900 x146.
